Sizing / Configuration
The standard strip measures 3 × 20 inches, giving you enough material to make multiple small repairs or cut a larger custom patch. Gear Aid also offers Tenacious Tape in other configurations, including a 1.5 × 60-inch clear roll and precut patches.
Why We Like It
A good repair kit doesn’t need to be complicated. A small piece of Tenacious Tape can deal with the kind of tear that might otherwise turn a minor gear problem into a trip-ending annoyance, and the material can be cut down so you’re not carrying more repair tape than you need.
The Tradeoff
It’s primarily a field-repair product, not a substitute for properly repairing heavily damaged gear. The adhesive also works best when the surface is clean and dry, so taking a moment to prepare the area before applying it makes a big difference.
Rikkar Take
One of the easiest repair items to justify carrying on a backpacking trip. A few grams of repair tape can save an expensive piece of gear from becoming unusable, and because you can cut the tape to the size of the repair, one strip can cover a surprising number of small problems.
