Sizing / Configuration
The 350 ml is best suited to short outings, electrolyte mixes, or carrying a small secondary water supply. The 500 ml is a versatile middle ground for day hikes, running vests, and fastpacking, while the 750 ml provides more useful capacity without adding much weight.
Why We Like It
The HydriamX is a great example of where a few extra grams can buy you a meaningful increase in durability. It’s still remarkably light, but the thicker TPU makes it a better choice for hikers who don’t want to treat their water bottles like disposable gear.
The ability to handle hot liquids also gives the HydriamX more versatility than most soft ultralight flasks. Add the 28 mm thread and filter compatibility, and it can serve as both a water container and part of a simple filtration system.
The Tradeoff
The thicker TPU makes the HydriamX more durable, but it also makes it slightly heavier than CNOC’s standard Hydriam. TPU can also retain some odor after manufacturing, so the flask should be cleaned and aired out before regular use.

If you want a soft flask that is genuinely ultralight but don’t want to sacrifice durability, the HydriamX is an excellent choice. The 500 ml is the most versatile size for most users, while the 350 ml and 750 ml versions make sense when you’re building a more specific water-carrying system around your pack or running vest.
